Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of characters, and a gripping narrative including celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces increasing in power within the urban setting.
Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of the new season are included.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to begin their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (Laura), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
With 13 cast members, it was evident from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the party understands precisely where to go next after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death started the story’s plot—used the enemy for his selfish purposes, breaking into the secret base, assaulting the character, and taking all the enchanted items to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the city, with Cyd pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a specific drive to depart Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, wants revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a hostile place.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- But, their position as important members in the influential clan could assist the party access areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The healer betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the family.
This means them few options but to journey toward the northern region in search of Casimir.
Future Episodes
From episode three’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight players to assemble the Explorers and Planners tables.
Audiences can expect discovering which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on next week.
